If you are pregnant over the age of 35, your care provider will make a note of your advanced maternal age. This generally doesn’t dictate your care choices or birthing options but it does put you at higher risk of pregnancy complications, including pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes. It can also prompt your care provider to discuss induction once you have passed your estimated due date.
